Day One Shorts Talent Development Day - 3 July
We recently spent the day with our Day One Shorts 2024 commissioned teams, as part of our commitment to providing wrap-around talent.
On 3 July, Day One Shorts teams took part in:
- Media training with 818
- A studio visit, audience engagement and pitching session with VLDL (Viva la Dirt League Studios)
- BTS Content Creation at Click Studios
- Meeting with screening and funding partners
- A visit from Brian and Julie Cadzow from Vista Foundation, who were amongst the lucky few who got to see a sneak peek of the Day One Shorts trailers
More pics to come!
Day One Shorts is an immersive talent development program which offers workshops, mentoring and funding for filmmakers, and provides a pathway for young voices to break into the industry and forge sustainable careers.
Day One Shorts holds space for diverse creatives to get a foot in the door by restricting the initiative to directors under 30 who haven’t received film or series funding in the past.
We are stoked to announce that Day One Shorts 2025 is generously funded by NZ On Air and applications are now open. Visit www.dofilm.co.nz/shorts/ for more information.
