Trust Board Member - Connected Media Charitable Trust
We are looking for a volunteer Trust Board Member to join the board of Connected Media Charitable Trust to help guide and grow our organisation.
Connected Media runs Day One Hāpai te Haeata - Stories for a better tomorrow. Day One aims to provide a supportive community which provides rangatahi with the tools, guidance and opportunities to share stories on screen for young people in film. Our programmes are run nationwide but our operational base is in Tāmaki Makaurau.
We have recently launched exciting new branding, so it's the perfect time to join an organisation that is full of heart and vision. We have strong board representation in the areas of film, government funding, education, business and accounting, and we are looking to add complementary skills and perspectives to strengthen our governance and strategic direction.
It's a great time to be part of growing our vision and kaupapa. We are looking for a motivated individual who has the capacity to join us for six two-hour board meetings per year and contribute their expertise to support the organisation's development.

Expected hours of commitment
- 6x 2-hour meetings per annum
- 1 hour pre-reading per meeting
- Occasional additional time for board working groups or organisational support as needed
Key Purpose of the Role
- Provide strategic guidance and governance oversight
- Contribute expertise and perspectives to board discussions and decision-making
- Support the Day One leadership team through advice and mentorship
- Help define leadership roles, set plans, policies and high ethical standards
- Maintain a longer-term focus and strategic perspective
- Monitor and hold management to account
