Call for Expressions of Interest: Free filmmaking Workshops in Schools

Day One Hāpai te Haeata

Free Day One Filmmaking Workshops for Schools.

Day One Hāpai te Haeata are offering free workshops in schools for those aged (12 years +) across Auckland, Wellington, and Northland in Term 3, 2024.

Teachers, we want to come and talk to your class about filmmaking and kickstarting your creativity. Our workshops and our film initiative, the Day One Challenge, offer valuable skills and an inspiring platform for young people to express themselves and share their stories. Most importantly, these workshops are totally free!

Day One envisions this as coming to your school (yes, we’ll come to you!) to run our dynamic and interactive short workshops. These tailored workshops, ranging from 30 to 60 to 90 minutes (your choice), feature our Day One learning modules and how-to videos. We cover a variety of topics, from "Finding Your Creative Voice" to "Exploring Stop Motion Magic," and can easily adapt to the needs of each group.

Our sessions include film screenings, showcasing the potential results of implementing the skills and tools we provide. These workshops are designed not only for students interested in filmmaking but also to foster leadership, organisation, and creativity applicable to any project.

Get in touch with us if you are keen on scheduling a workshop or if you have any questions. We would love to collaborate with your school and support your students in their creative journeys.
